this valley howls the winds they blow
and we’ve never seen a lick of snow
this arid clime leaves an afterglow
the tumbleweeds rollin through the town

well the sun bakes cracks in the desert floor
and the birds don’t come around no more
but i’m huddled here in a coat of down

out here we’ve coyotes and hares
but they might as well be polar bears
and my home is like a Frigidaire
